User Management

Users are primarily managed in OLAT. Users are entered into JupyterHub’s user database when they first log in, that is, when they click the Start LTI learning module link in OLAT.

Authentication

Users are authenticated by OLAT using the edu-ID authentication provider.

Authorisation

Your OLAT course role determines your JupyterHub role and what you are allowed to do:

OLAT role	JupyterHub role	Allowed to
Owner	Admin	assign students to groups; manage all users and servers
Coach	Instructor	access and manage students’ servers; manage groups and quota
Participant	User	use and access personal and group servers
